Description
Cable lugs, also known as “connectors” or “anchors” according to industrial terminology, are cable accessories designed to enable direct connection to many electrical applications and to facilitate maintenance, repair and installation processes. The most common example; These are battery connection applications used to power the electrical parts of motor vehicles.
Usage Methods
Cable lugs are used in places where permanent connection is required and direct connection is inconvenient. Application methods may also vary depending on usage patterns. Soldering or welding is done depending on the type of lug to be connected. Then, the connection end of the shoe is connected by clamping it to the connection point with a perfectly matching terminal using a bolt, screw or clip. The most commonly used metal in shoes, which are produced in many sizes and with different metal materials, is copper. Fork or “U” shaped lugs for screw terminals; closed ring or “O” type shoes for bolted applications; Pin or flat handle lugs are used for crimp or knife tip terminals. Cable lugs are also used to reduce cable size as they can connect thicker cross-section cable to a smaller size connector.
